Thank you for your display of generosity through our special offering taken on June 1-14 to help fund our 25th anniversary celebration. The funds in this offering were earmarked specifically for our 25th! We want to reflect the missional mentality that was the genesis of our fellowship hoping to start a new wave of love and service to the St. Croix Valley. Because of your lavish love, we are in a much better position to do so. In case you haven’t heard our goal of $32,500 was (may I say shattered?) surpassed as God moved in you in the amount of $45,000! Thank God! Thank you! Now let’s get on to loving up our neighbors!!!
Tim Porter will be celebrating his anniversary with DJ (Deborah Jean for those of you who don’t know) out of town. Steve Holsteen has been working hard to present a timely message on Jesus’ interaction with the church in Philadelphia (not Pennsylvania) found in Revelation 3:7-13.
Meanwhile at The Well Dave Gunnlaugsson will continue his trek through the book of Ecclesiastes, picking up in 5:8 where issues of oppression and justice are addressed.
Thanking Brian Crim~
There will be a reception for Brian Crim and his family for his nearly eleven years of service next Sunday, June 28th. The gathering will follow the 10:30 worship service and will take place in the Community Room. Please take this opportunity to express your appreciation for Brian and to wish him well as he and Jen and their four children move on to the next stage of their journey. If you have any questions or would like to help (help needed!) feel free to contact Macy Westerham at 612-859-8546.
Exciting Business Meeting~
…is there really such a thing? I think you will agree with me if you attend the one scheduled for Wednesday, July 15th at 7:00 p.m. in the FCC auditorium. We will vote on four people who have asked to become a formal part of the FCC family through membership. We will also determine the future of the body (insofar as it is humanly possible) by voting on the elders nomination that Randy Zimmermann and Tim Porter move from elder apprentice status to permanent status. We will also spend some time talking about specifics related to our 25th anniversary, staff transitions and more. In addition we will hand out a number of minor awards just for fun. Even though you must be a member to vote, everyone is welcome to attend.
25th Anniversary Concert Set…
Last Friday we received final confirmation that Jared Anderson will headline the concert portion of our celebration at Lakefront Park on Sunday, August 23rd.

Let me begin by highlighting the fact that it is Father’s Day and that most Father’s don’t…need a tie…enough said.
I want to begin by reminding all Ministry Leaders of the meeting you were invited to this Saturday, June 20th from 9:30-11:00 in the Community Room. In this gathering we want to help you understand and be better equipped to make disciples through the ministry in which God has placed you. You will also receive a major award (at least in my opinion) for attending. We will have coffee available, so Caribou is optional!
Tim will continue teaching on Jesus’ response to the seven churches in Asia Minor found in Revelation two and three. This weekend we will consider the church of Sardis from 3:1-6 and consider what it means to be a church that considers a gap between reputation and reality.
The Well will continue its teaching series through the book of Ecclesiastes. This week’s text is Ecclesiastes 5:1-7, and reminds readers that awe of God influences all that we are.
Leadership development is an area that we are committed to developing. Those leaders who have ultimate responsibility and authority are the church elders. We have been in the process of apprenticeship with two candidates and this weekend there will be a special announcement regarding their progress.
Reception for Brian and Jen Crim
There will be a “thank you reception” for Brian Crim and his family for his nearly eleven years of service next Sunday, June 28th. The gathering will follow the 10:30 worship service in the Community Room. Take this opportunity to express your appreciation for Brian and to wish him well as he moves on to the next stage of his journey. Can You Keep a Secret?
Last weekend we took our annual special offering toward the goal of providing 600,000 meals for the hungry as well as serving our friends in the St. Croix Valley in some fun ways. The results are in, but I prefer that people learn about what took place in our worship gatherings. So I wonder…can you keep a secret?
We will disclose the amount of the offering at each service and ask that you don’t pass it along to others until noon Sunday, so each service can experience the announcement in a fresher manner.
Obviously I can’t control your tongue (as you know some times I can’t control mine!), but I would ask that once you learn what took place, that you won’t tell anyone else until after noon on Sunday.
I’ll be out of town Monday through Friday, taking a vacation to lovely Breckenridge (MN) to visit my sister and her husband.
I look forward to worshipping the God who gives His life for His people this weekend.
