Communications and Administrative Assistant

Reports to: Shannon Christopher, Communications Manager

General Responsibilities: Provides communications and administrative support to FCC staff and ministries as well as first contact communication for front office during scheduled office hours.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Assist Communications Manager in managing the following key areas:

  • Social media channels and creating social media content that is creative and engaging
  • Production/distribution of collateral material
  • Maintenance of current/updated contact and profile information in church database
  • Drafting and editing emails and mass texting for weekly programming and events
  • Updating online and app content
  • Designing, editing and management of church policies when necessary
  • Coordinating communications and content for periodic events in the life of the church

Administrative and communications support across our ministries including:

Generating graphics and promotional content for various ministries

Data entry, tracking and record keeping related to:

  • demographic data
  • reports and analysis
  • permission slip/waivers
  • registration creation
  • background checks

Administrative Support:

  • Facilitate communication response via phone calls and FCC general email and re-directing to appropriate ministry leader(s) or ministry
  • Communicate with specified volunteer groups regarding weekly scheduling
  • Facilitate ordering office supplies and ministry supplies
  • Assist in requisition or upgrades of new office equipment


  • 4 Year post-secondary degree (BA/BS) with communications, journalism or marketing emphasis
  • 2-4 Years of relevant professional experience in positions providing marketing communications support within a medium to large organization
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
  • Robust creator/editor of collateral using software and integrating targeting from database and social media platforms
  • Copy writing and editing: structure, flow, spelling, grammar and attention to details
  • A personal relationship with Jesus that is growing and authentic
  • Desires to serve the local church and grow in the gospel
  • Willingness to enter into membership of Faith Community Church

Desired Experience:

  • Microsoft Office suite of programs including SharePoint and Teams
  • Social media analytics and reporting
  • Google Analytics and reporting


  • Flexible, attentive and engaging in spontaneous interactions with people
  • Empathetic and encouraging attitude towards those in crisis and need 
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal direction, providing proactive solutions to anticipated needs 
  • Able to quickly learn and utilize computer applications 
  • Meeting and event planning/coordination skills 
  • Ability to work in a Mac or PC environment
  • Ability to understand high level ministry objectives and proactively develop administrative support that facilitates those objectives
