DAVID: a shepherd boy, a KING. God saw kingliness in David when no one else did. What does it mean to be kingly? God tells us it's a matter of the heart. A humble heart is a kingly heart. So how can we practice having a humble heart? Check out this week's video and talking points to learn more.
Pssst...We’re taking a little break from our normal FAITH at Home content schedule to regroup, pray and plan to bring you even better content in the future! We’ll check back in with you in July, so stay tuned! And please stay connected to our other content and resources on our website. Also, we’d love to see you at FCC in-person as we’ve started regathering together on Sundays! If you’re not ready to join us in-person that is OK, too; we’re still live streaming our services each Sunday!
16 The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you grieve over Saul, since I have rejected him from being king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil, and go. I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite, for I have provided for myself a king among his sons.”
God, thank you for the story of David. David was not a perfect man, he was flawed and a sinner just like we all are flawed sinners. But, David was humble, he was a sincere worshipper, and he knew you personally. David had a heart after your own heart. Help each of us to be humble and sincere worshippers, like David. Help us to draw near you and to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Amen.
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.
Humble people put others’ needs above their own. This week, each of you chose someone in your family that you will serve. Be sure each of you serves someone and each person gets served. Think of a way to love and care for the person you will serve this week.
