Discussion Questions

As a family, discuss:

  1. Think of a time in the past that you were so concerned or worried that you were distracted from living in the present and even neglected responsibilities. Share.
  1. Is there something that gives you anxiety or that you are worried about right now? What are the areas of your life where you are tempted to worry instead of trust in God (i.e., finances, friendships, health, etc.)?

Thanks to all who answered our question last week! Here were the results:

Pray

Lord, thank you for caring for all the birds of the air and for clothing so beautifully the flowers of the field. You show your care for them in how you provide for them. We know you care even more for us. You demonstrated your care when you sent your own son to take the penalty of our sin by dying on the cross in our place. Please help each of us with the things that make us worry. Help us to choose to trust you and have peace knowing that you know our needs and will take care of us. Amen.

Memory Verse

Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Matthew 6.34

Family Action Steps

Now that you know what each of you is worried about, commit to praying for each other this week. Pray that God will help each of you to trust Him rather than trying to control your situation by yourself.
