Friday UpDate - August 28, 2020

Happy Friday, FCC! Thank you for all of your prayers, cards and condolences regarding the death of my father. He fought a 30-year battle with many significant health concerns and difficulties. During that time, God’s grace continued to empower and change him. Today he is In the presence of the Lord, and we miss him deeply. We look forward to the resurrection, when we will all be transformed by the power of the Spirit and will live in a new world with no more tears, pain, sin, not death.

This Sunday, as we look at Luke 15 again in the “All for One” series, we're going to be talking about a surprising way to be alienated from God—one that is dangerous because it is so subtle. And, we’ll take a look at three signs that we may be more alienated from God than we thought.

We will also be celebrating baptisms this Sunday! Our mission to help everyone meet, know and follow Jesus continues in the middle of a pandemic. An important step in following Jesus is baptism. In consultation with local health workers, we want to offer you an opportunity to take a next step to be baptized. If you have said yes to following Jesus, but haven’t been baptized yet, we invite you to sign up to be baptized.

  • If you are hesitant because of COVID-19 concerns to join us on campus for your baptism, we would love to assist you in celebrating your relationship with Jesus in a setting more helpful to you.
  • Whether you'd like to be baptized during an in-person service on Sunday, Aug. 30, or in a different setting, please sign up at or on the app by 3:00pm TODAY, Aug. 28, and Pastor Larry Szyman will follow up with you.

With baptism services, we regularly have guests with us in the building, and we are expecting this service to be no different (In fact as we have been regathering this summer, every week we have had new families joining us in person and taking steps to get connected).  So if you are on campus on Sunday, be on the look out for guests, and welcome them with joy, while practicing wise pandemic protocols!

Whether you watch at home or are on campus on Sundays, you matter to us and you matter to God. We are one church joining together in many locations, on mission to help everyone meet, know and follow Jesus.
