TheUpDate Weekly Newsletter - December 16, 2020

Happy Wednesday, FCC!  I am praying for you today!  Praying for strength, healing, hope and an experience of God’s personal and powerful presence in your life!

I also want to let you know about some changes to this week’s Heart for the Valley service event. The student service aspect of Heart for the Valley is cancelled due to Ben McMullen, our Director of High School Discipleship, testing positive for the COVID-19 virus and additional key leaders, including Jake Pierson, Director of Middle School Discipleship, needing to quarantine.  In the absence of these critical leaders, we’re simply unable to handle the complex logistics of this event.
So we are simplifying our approach. Our Refuge event team and Refuge mentors will distribute a large Christmas ham, a dozen cookies, a $40 County Market gift card and a $15 gas card to each of the families that signed up to receive a meal. In this way, all the money provided through the incredible generosity of our congregation will be used to meet the same basic needs our original approach addressed.  We are so thankful for the Refuge event team and mentors who have stepped in to facilitate the event!  And, thank you for your generosity in support of Heart for the Valley!

The Refuge small groups will continue to meet tonight with their small group leaders for the final Refuge of 2020. Ben, Jake, and also Joe Norton, who leads worship at the Refuge, will not be present at the Refuge tonight because of their need to quarantine. They are all doing well, and your prayers for them and their families would be greatly appreciated.

Galatians 5:22-24 (Godly Living)
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

We have a vision, that in the coming years, we will help thousands in the St. Croix Valley meet, know, and follow Jesus. Your generosity, especially at the end of the year, can help us do this. Your generosity is helping lives be changed. Fifteen people said “YES!” to Jesus during 2020! As you have been changed by God's grace, would you please give generously to help others meet Jesus, know and follow Jesus? You can also find some 2020 end-of-year giving tips on the updated giving page at Thank you!
