Hey, FCC! How great is it that it’s already Wednesday!? That means we are only a few days away from Sunday. And, that means we are only a few days from meeting with God together! Wow, we are only a few days away from seeing one another. Not only that, we are also only a few days away from being able to invite friends and family to meet with Jesus, too!

Have you ever experienced leaning into a strong wind? Maybe as a kid or even adult, you’d lean into the wind, and you wouldn’t fall over because the wind is so powerful. A few weeks ago, I was in California, and I experienced the Santa Ana winds. They are powerful gusts of wind, that not only have the strength to blow you around as you are walking down the street, but they can even blow semi-trucks over on the highways. Amazing!

Isn’t it amazing that something invisible can be so powerful!? Think about it. We all experience the wind, but no one can see the wind. We can’t see the wind, but we all believe in the wind. We can’t see the wind, but we can see the effects of the wind.

Jesus teaches us that a relationship with the Spirit of God is like a relationship with the wind—in fact the word we translate “Spirit” can also be translated as wind or breath. We can’t see the Spirit of God; he is invisible. But we can have a relationship with the Spirit. We can know his power! We can know his power in being born again. Being born again doesn’t mean to go back into the womb to come back out again. And being born again isn’t just about changing a view or some kind of lifestyle change. Being born again, Jesus says, is to have a new relationship with God. It’s like a spiritual heart transplant. An old worn out heart is replaced by a new heart that is ready to know and follow Jesus.

If you know Jesus, you have been born again! Jesus lived and died for you to be born again! Today, remember that you have the powerful Spirit of God working in you, in your heart, in your life. Don’t live today as if you have no power. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is willing and able to give you the power you need today to follow Jesus, wherever he may lead you and whatever he may call you to do. You have the power to take the next step!

A relationship with the Spirit of God gives you access to power. The same power that gives life to our world. A power that changes us to be the kind of people other people want to know and love. Do you know the power of God’s Ghost?

Participating in the Hudson Backpack Program is one way that Faith Community serves the families in our community. With your help, backpacks filled with breakfast, lunch and other food items are provided to families at Willow River Elementary and families at E.P. Rock Elementary twice a month during the school year.

  • If you’d like to help this month, please pick up a green bag at the ministry booth in the lobby on Sunday, then shop for the items listed on the card attached to the bag and bring the filled bag back next weekend.
  • New or lightly used plain backpacks are also needed to send food home with students. If you’d like to donate a backpack, please drop it off at the Info Center at FCC.
  • To sign up to help distribute bags and for more information, please contact Robyn Romberg at Thank you, FCC!

The International Friendship Program is an opportunity to invite international students at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) into the everyday things you do in your home and family. The program is available for individuals and families.

With the UWRF International Friendship Program, God is bringing people groups from around the world to us, providing the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with individuals from other countries, as well as demonstrate God’s love for them. You can invite them to your home for a meal or a holiday celebration, or if you’re going to the zoo or the mall or a sporting event, you can invite them to come along with you.

To get signed up with the program, you just need to sign up online. Search the internet for "UWRF International Friendship Program" to find information on how to sign up. Questions? Scott and Kathy Seaborg will be in the lobby this Sunday. Stop by to see them or contact them at or 651-236-7702.

…and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus…

Missional Communities are a great place to have people speak truth into our lives. They are the core element of Faith Community’s discipleship, and we'd love to help you get connected with a Missional Community:

  • They are a place to belong, grow in becoming more like Jesus and serve.
  • They offer care and support to one another through life’s celebrations and times of need, too.
  • Within Missional Communities, smaller discipleship groups offer a place to be mentored, while studying God’s word and learning to apply it to all of life.

Watch the video at this link as one family shares what Missional Community means to them and see what it’s like when a Missional Community gets together. Stop by the Connection Center on Sunday to get connected with a Missional Community or visit or the Faith Base app to learn more.
