TheUpDate Weekly Newsletter - June 17, 2020

Happy Wednesday, FCC! Let me be the first to say, Happy Father’s Day, to all you dads out there. I hope Sunday is a great day for you, that you feel honored and appreciated.

  • This Sunday
  • FaithWorks 2020 is next week!
  • This week’s Bible memory verse

In recent months, where we have been seeing so much less of one another, we know now more than ever how much we need human connection. The life of David and his friendship with Jonathan gives us a powerful and inspiring glimpse into how friendship can both give direction to our lives, and it even shows how friendship has the potential to save a life.

Just a reminder that through the month of June we are planning for an in-person attendance of 100 people at both of the 9:00 and 11:00am services. There’s still some room for this Sunday (June 21), so if you’d still like to RSVP for the in-person services, please RSVP at this link.

Whether you watch at home or are on campus on Sunday, we are one church with one mission: to help everyone meet, know and follow Jesus.

Watch or listen to sermons in the “David, The Rise and Fall of a King” series at or on the FaithBase app.

FAITHWORKS 2020 | JUNE 22-26

FaithWorks is next week! Each summer, Faith Community Church dedicates a week to serving our neighbors across the St. Croix Valley through FaithWorks, and this summer marks our 10th year! Adaptations will be made, but we will still be loving our neighbors in a significant way together. If you have any questions, contact Pastor Larry Szyman at Here are some ways to get involved:

  • Register to volunteer during FaithWorks at or the FaithBase app. (About 100 workers, from middle schoolers through adults, are needed each day to help complete about 50 projects during the week.)
  • If you would like to donate food items for snacks for workers, they can be brought to the church building on Monday morning, June 22, starting at 5am! Individually wrapped snacks of all kinds, apples, chips, candy, nuts, bottled water, and juice boxes would be very appreciated! We're sorry—we cannot accept home baked goodies this year. Call or text Karen Garden for more information at: 715-220-2507. Thank you!
  • If you would like to make a financial donation to FaithWorks, you can make an online donation at or the FaithBase app. Thank you!
  • Faith Community Church is holding a scrap metal collection again this year in support of FaithWorks.Scrap metal will be received from 9am-5pm, Monday through Thursday, June 22-25, and 9am-12pm (noon) on Friday, June 26, at dumpsters located at the house just south of the church building, 777 Carmichael Road (look for the sign). Please note, we are not able to accept refrigerators, microwaves, A/C units, automobiles, or anything with freon (unless the freon has already been purged).
