It’s Wednesday, and we are just a few days from meeting one another on Sunday for FCC Online! As the Wisconsin Governor’s order of “Safer at Home” goes into place today, let’s remember that the church isn’t a building, or gathering, but a Spirit-led people. Remember you matter to God and relationships are essential. While keeping within the governor’s physical distance guidelines, connect with your neighbors! You are the church right where you live! We are connecting with neighbors now in ways that we haven’t been able to before---so many are out for walks on nicer days. We have a great opportunity to love our neighbors in Jesus’ name. Share phone numbers, and check in on one another.
Remember in the middle of all kinds of changes, God doesn’t change. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13.8). The good news of Jesus doesn’t change. The mission of Jesus doesn’t change.
Let’s entrust ourselves to the Spirit of God today—God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear. The Spirit of God is a Spirit for power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1.7). If you haven’t done so yet, start praying today for one person that you can invite to worship online with us for Easter. Let’s invite 1000’s of our neighbors and friends to meet, know, and follow Jesus!
IN THIS ISSUE:
NEW online resources!
This week’s Bible memory verse
Thank you for worshiping with us and inviting your friends and neighbors to worship with us online, too! We had about 690 people view the online worship services from our web site this past Sunday, and about half of those were first time visitors to our web site. In addition, more than 1,500 people viewed the 9:00am service live on Facebook, and more than 920 people viewed the 11:00am service live on Facebook. And, if we consider families are worshiping together from home, this represents an even larger number gathered online for FCC’s worship services. God be praised!
Join us this Sunday at 9 or 11am for online church!
We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we’ve been making the transition to livestreaming our services online. We have decided to focus on two main ways to offer services online—directly through fcchudson.com and also on Facebook. This helps our team offer the best experience for viewers and also helps us in responding to people who are commenting and messaging us with prayer requests or other needs. We love the ways you are engaging with each us and each other online during the services!
NEW Sermon Guide online – We are making a sermon guide available to you online in our blog each week. You can download the sheet to print out to follow along and take notes at home.
This Sunday we will continue in our "Who Do You Say?" series. There were a lot of opinions about Jesus. There still are today. Jesus says he came to bear witness to the truth—the truth of who God is. The truth of God’s mercy, grace, power, strength, and love. Jesus reveals a God to us that is so good that he has to be true. Who do YOU say Jesus is?
We can’t wait to meet with you online! Invite a friend or neighbor to watch online and then talk about the sermon afterward. We have a great opportunity to help 1000’s meet, know and follow Jesus!
Watch or listen to sermons in the “Who Do You Say?” series at fcchudson.com or the FaithBase app. You’ll also find a copy of the sermon guide.
Listen to this week’s worship music playlist on Spotify. Check it out here. (You’ll need to sign up for a free Spotify account to listen, if you don’t already have one.)

MISSIONAL COMMUNITY UPDATE
Pastor Tim Prince has been working with our Missional Community leaders to make the transition to meeting together through online platforms. Missional Community leaders are also reaching out by phone to people who may not have access to email or the internet. This is a great time to be intentional and evangelistic with the people in our neighborhoods. Thank you for the many ways you are serving each other and the people in your neighborhoods!
Pastor Larry Szyman has been in contact with school, government and community leaders for updates on ways FCC can be of service. Here are a few ways you can be praying:
Hudson Backpack Program—Thankfully, the program has resources for food and money to continue to serve families through the Hudson Backpack Program, so at this time, they are not in need of donations. Pastor Larry learned that they needed a place to stage the filling of the backpacks, so this will be taking place every other week at FCC. They also have all the volunteers they need to facilitate the filling of the backpacks. Could you please pray for the families being served through Hudson Backpack Program and the volunteers who lead these efforts?
Resources for Help—Please contact your Missional Community leader, if there is a way that you could use help or support. Pastor Larry also learned that dialing 211 is a way to access a number of community resources through United Way, if you or someone you know is needing help. Could you please pray for our community as families adjust to major changes in how they work and live?
Healthcare Providers—Could you please pray for the health care providers in our community? Pastor Larry talked with some of the health care providers in Hudson, and they are preparing to care for large numbers of people who will need medical attention due to COVID-19. In addition, some of the people at FCC are helping to sew masks to supplement the shortage of masks.
THIS WEEK’S BIBLE MEMORY VERSE
Isaiah 41:10 (Fear) …[F]ear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Although we’re all experiencing a lot of change right now, our mission stays the same: to help everyone meet, know and follow Jesus. We have an opportunity to reach thousands through our new online services and resources. Your faithful giving helps support this mission. Thank you for your generosity!
You can give online at any time at fcchudson.com or on the FaithBase app. You’ll find step-by-step instructions there on how to get started with giving online with a checking account or credit card (Visa, Mastercard or Discover).
You can also give by mail at Faith Community Church, 777 Carmichael Rd., Hudson, WI 54016.
HAVE YOU CONNECTED WITH A MISSIONAL COMMUNITY?
Missional Communities are a great place to have people speak truth into our lives. They are the core element of Faith Community’s discipleship, and we'd love to help you get connected with a Missional Community:
They are a place to belong, grow in becoming more like Jesus and serve.
They offer care and support to one another through life’s celebrations and times of need, too.
Within Missional Communities, smaller discipleship groups offer a place to be mentored, while studying God’s word and learning to apply it to all of life.
Watch the video at this link to learn more. To get connected with a Missional Community, visit fcchudson.com or the Faith Base app.
PRAYER REQUESTS + CARE NEEDS are posted on the Prayer + Care wall on the FaithBase app. You can also sign up on the app under “Emails + Registrations,” if you would like to receive an email when new prayer requests and care needs are posted.
