TheUpDate Weekly Newsletter - May 20, 2020

Happy Wednesday, FCC!

Thank you for your prayers and for your participation in last week’s survey about regathering for our worship services at the church building. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. We look forward to being together again on Sunday mornings! We’re working on a wise and intentional plan for that and will provide an update to you soon. There’s a lot to figure out. We ask for your grace, patience and prayers. Along with all the safety elements, we also need to learn how to do in-person services and online at the same time. God is answering your prayers and he is leading, and he will continue to lead us.

Because we want to do this well, the elders and pastors decided that our worship services will be only online for the two remaining Sundays in May—Sundays, May 24, and May 31. Again, we feel the ache for wanting to meet again very soon, but we want to do this well. We are working toward adding in-person in June. Please be praying!

While we are planning to regather for worship, I just want to remind you that the mission hasn’t changed and keeps moving forward. Just this week, through the ministry of FCC, a young man said yes to Jesus. This is great news! We want to help everyone meet know and follow Jesus, so let’s keep praying for opportunities God gives us to share Jesus with one another.

Is it possible to be certain in uncertain times? This Sunday, we will learn from Jesus’ sermon on the mount, about a most comforting promise. It’s not so much about facing uncertainties, but who are you facing the uncertainties with. Join in for online services at 9 or 11am this Sunday at and invite a friend, too!

  • Every week we have a follow up to the sermon that’s for the whole family, and helps us all live out what we are learning. From Jesus. Watch for this week’s Faith at Home video later today at
  • Watch or listen to sermons in the “Last Things First” series at or the FaithBase app. You’ll also find a copy of the sermon guide with the sermon audio and video. And, starting with the sermon, “Worry,” you can now view the entire worship service, including the worship music and pre-service announcements.
  • Listen to this week’s worship music playlist on Spotify. Check it out here. (You’ll need to sign up for a free Spotify account to listen, if you don’t already have one.)
