Happy Thanksgiving Eve, FCC! I am deeply thankful for you. I trust your holiday activities will be delightful and remind you of God’s continual kindness and provision. God is so good.

This Sunday, we will conclude our AS WE GO series with the outcome of following Jesus: INVITE. Jesus calls us into discipleship and walks us through the steps of following him, so that we can invite others to come and meet Jesus, as well. We will learn from Jesus’ conversation with a Samaritan woman (John 4.5-42). This conversation changed her life. In turn, she invited her village to come and see Jesus. This is a great Sunday to invite people to worship, as we talk about Jesus and celebrate changed lives with baptisms.

HUDSON COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING SERVICE | TONIGHT (NOV. 21) at Trinity Lutheran Church (WestCampus: 1205 6th St., Hudson, WI) and hosted by the Hudson Ministerial Association.

We have so much for which to be thankful and what a better way to celebrate God’s grace by joining together as a community and thanking his for his blessings. A pie reception will be held after the service in the gym. Invite your friends and family for this wonderful time of celebration.

Part of our five-year strategic plan includes increasing cross-cultural community. Thank you for your generosity, Faith Community! You gave more than $65,000 to Vision for the Valley in support of church planting in Uganda and hiring a pastor for the St.Croix Valley’s only Spanish-speaking church, Iglesia Christiana! On Sunday, Pastor Larry shared about how your generosity is helping in Uganda and you can read more about this in his blog post on

Another part of our five-year strategic plan is to create an evangelistic culture, and we want to thank you for the ways you are living out the gospel through your generosity. When you serve a FCC ministry, help your neighbor with a chore or volunteer in your child’s classroom, you are extending the generous love of Christ. When you give through tithes and offerings, you are helping fund the many ministries of our church that touch people with the gospel both here in the St. Croix Valley, as well as reaching people across the globe. When you take the time to smile at a person working the fast food drive thru or listen to a co-worker who is struggling, you are making a difference.

As we near the end of the year, would you consider extending your generosity through a year-end contribution? The financial gifts that we receive at the end of the year make a huge impact on the church’s ability to support our annual budget. They also enable the kind of one-time investments that cannot be funded on the basis of regular, weekly and monthly giving. Consider making a gift on Giving Tuesday, November 27, which is a day recognized around the globe to celebrate and encourage giving. Take this day to serve, offer your support to a neighbor or make a financial contribution. To give online, visit Thank you, Faith Community!

Thank you, Faith Community, for your support of Operation Christmas Child again this year. Here’s an update from Lynn Hawksford, who leads these efforts: “Operation Christmas Child National Collection Week has concluded. There were 1,627 shoeboxes dropped off at FCCHudson this, year. This is up from 997 last year – God is good! I am so grateful to all the wonderful volunteers that helped this year. On behalf of OCC, I want to thank FCC Hudson for their support of this ministry. And thank you to everyone that packed a shoebox. Now, 1,627 more children will hear about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, when they receive these shoebox gifts.”

The mission of Faith Community is to make more and better disciples of Jesus Christ. We want to help everyone to meet, know and followJesus. Through our strategic plan, we have established five main initiatives to help us move toward this overall goal.

  • On Sunday, Dec. 2, please pick up a copy of the 2019 Vision Forward booklet to see what’s planned for next year. We will have a brief meeting after both services on Dec. 2 in the Refuge Room, to discuss the budget proposal.
  • On Sunday, Dec. 16, FCC covenant members will vote on the budget proposal following the 9 a.m. service with a meeting starting at approximately 10:15 a.m.

Loving child care workers are needed on Sunday mornings in the nurseries. We currently have an opening during the 9 a.m. service. The nurseries serve families with children (newborn through age 5) throughout the year. Consider helping one time, once a month, or more. If this is an area in which God has gifted you, please contactKaren Garden at 715.220.2507 or
