Uganda Trip Updates - Post #1

John Blum and I made it to MSP about 12:45 p.m. on Friday and as we were checking in, I thought I would send Mike Evans (former pastor of FCC New Richmond, now with Training Leaders International-TLI) a text to see if he was at MSP yet....at 12:53 p.m., he replied "we leave tomorrow, right?" To which I replied, that John and I fly out at 3:15 p.m., which sent Mike into an understandable panic.

I called a frantic Mike who was in full scramble mode as I got ahold of him in a Trader Joe's parking lot in downtown Minneapolis. He still had to go home (in MPLS), pick up his bags and get to the airport. At about 2:10 p.m., he texted "I'm at the gate." That was impressive and a memorable start to the trip.

I am sitting at the lounge at the Amsterdam airport as we are preparing for the final due diligence trip to ensure that our goal of seeing an African-led, disciple making, church planting movement take root in northern Uganda. If all goes as planned, we will be making a three year commitment to forty local leaders and the hope of seeing two different people groups take ownership for and advance this movement. I will keep you posted as our time unfolds. Please pray for clarity and discernment as we begin the process...
